Estate planners may try to avoid it, clients may think that they don’t need it, but sometimes guardianship is the answer. As part of the RPPTL Practice Series, this program explores why guardianship may be unavoidable, gives an overview of the guardianship process, and provides useful tips for navigating inquiries from concerned family members. Attendees will learn the rules governing filing a guardianship petition on behalf of a client, and will also learn how to substitute as counsel for their client when a proceeding has already been commenced. This course will leave the estate practitioner feeling confident that they can have a thorough discussion with their client about guardianship whenever the need arises.
